Our Story

Journey & motivation

Helping people gain a greater sense of well-being is what motivates me. As a teacher for over 15 years, I developed strong organisation skills and I saw first-hand the positive impact that structures and routines within the home can have on a family. I taught children across the Primary School years and worked closely with other professionals as part of the safeguarding and vulnerable children’s team. My friends and colleagues describe me as: loyal, dedicated, honest, supportive and caring. Due to my keen interest in mental health awareness and a desire to set off on a new path, I gained post-graduate certification for interpersonal and counselling skills. The combination of these skills led me to professional organising. Now, I find it rewarding to share this learning and strategies with others to help create more relaxed home and work environments.

In 2021, I met Kate Ibbotson (Founder of A Tidy Mind) and trained with her to become a franchisee. Whilst learning a huge amount from her willingness to share knowledge and direct experience, I engaged with an increasing number of my own clients and within a relatively short space of time, I brought my long term friend and ex teaching colleague Joanna on board to support the growth of my small business.

Along the way, I have engaged with local charitable organisations to make donations including Nite Light CIC Middlesbrough (community support for the most vulnerable in our society), Teesside at Christmas and Maxi’s Mates rescue and rehoming centre. I also support National Charities such as British Heart Foundation, Age UK, Cancer Research UK, Action for Children, RSPCA and The Salvation Army.

Over the years, I have worked with some incredible people and learned so much from others. I read widely in relation to mental health and am fascinated about how our minds work and the impact of our life experiences, core beliefs and values. Gratitude for my own health and well-being drives me to assist others in identifying what they can achieve and empowering them to believe in the worthiness of their contributions to others. Every day is different and even on the tougher days, I feel immensely privileged to be welcomed into people’s homes to provide whatever support I can. As we enter into 2026, we continue to help a widening range of clients across Teesside and the North East and just wish we had more hours in a day.
